➡️ Let's Talk Snacks
Why would snacks be a main topic today?
Well, they may not be the first thing that comes to mind when reading about junior golf but if you've ever walked or played 18 holes with your junior golfer,
then you likely know how important they are.
I've made plenty of mistakes in this area with our son by loading him up on snacks that were too high in sugar and spiked his energy too quickly while competing in a tournament. Plus when he was younger it seemed like we had to remind him to eat or else he wouldn't think about it.
While I'm certainly not an expert nutritionist, I've since learned how important it is for kids to eat around every 3 holes if they can and be armed with numerous options they can quickly grab while out on the course.
Some favorite options that keep well include:
- Jerky
- Protein or energy bars
- Bananas
- Nuts
- Trail mix
- Dried fruit
- Chex Mix
- Uncrustables
- Peanut butter crackers
- String
