➡️ The Drive, Chip and Putt National Finalists Are Set
If you've followed along with us on Instagram then you've likely seen all the highlights of those competing and qualifying for the Drive, Chip and Putt National Finals. The last of the qualifying competitions took place this weekend and I thought it was a perfect time to encourage your young junior golfer to think about competing next year, whether it's their first time or something they've tried for years!
It's such a special competition for us because we live here in Augusta where it takes place, plus we've personally experienced the thrill and excitement when our son was a National Finalist in 2022.
Living here in Augusta, the DCP competition has become such a highlight of Masters week for so many...and not just the ones participating. So many of the locals love taking their kids to watch it (despite it's very early start time on Sunday) at Augusta National.
I love the spirit of DCP for so many reasons but I especially love how it brings together so many junior golfers from around the country who all have a different experience with golf. For our son, making it to the finals was his goal starting at 6 years old....but it took him several years to achieve it! He finally qualified when he was 13 but there were many long car rides home where he did not come home with his ticket punched.
I encourage all junior golfers to compete in the local DCP qualifying events because it's such a great way to experience competition and meet other players. Even if the results don't turn out the way they hope, it may ignite a spark in them for golf and be the start of an entire new golf journey.
