Our family is gearing up for another golf tournament this week but it feels like we've barely unpacked from the last one. I look forward to sharing a recap for you next week!

⌛ Junior golfer spotlight

This week's junior spotlight features 8-year old Pamela Horn, from Los Angelas, California. Not only is Pamela a little ray of sunshine on the golf course, she's quite the talented piano player too!

Who is your favorite golfer?

Nelly Korda.

How did you start playing golf?

I started playing golf when I was 7 (June 2024) and from the first time I picked up a club, I was hooked. I still remember the excitement of hitting my first good shot—it made me want to keep going. The more I practiced, the more I fell in love with the game. Now, I can’t go a day without thinking about golf! I love the challenge, the precision, and the constant improvement every time I step onto the course or the driving range. It’s more than just a sport to me—it’s something I truly love and want to get better at every day.

What is your favorite thing about golf?

I love how golf challenges me every single day. No matter how much I practice, there’s always something new to learn and improve. It teaches me patience, focus, and discipline, and I love the feeling of hitting a perfect shot after working so hard on my swing. Golf also lets me spend time outside, enjoy nature, and have fun with my family. But most of all, it pushes me to be better—not just as a golfer, but as a person.

What part of the game are you working on now?

Right now, I’m focusing on my swing temple, and short game—especially chipping and putting.

What is your best achievement in golf?

Making it into the Top 9 of The Junior Tour powered by Under Armour for the month of January 2025! I’m so proud of how far I’ve come in just six months and excited to keep improving.

What is your graduation year?

2034.

What is your biggest goal in the next 5 years?

I want to compete in junior tournaments and continue improving my game. My dream is to become a pro golfer one day!

What is your favorite ice cream flavor?

Coconut Pineapple.

What other hobbies do you like?

I love playing the piano, drawing, swimming, cooking and spending time with my family!

Tell us more about your talent for playing the piano.

I’ve been playing piano since I was 4.5 years old, and it’s a huge part of my life. I’ve won multiple international competitions and performed at Carnegie Hall, Walt Disney Concert Hall, and Harvard University. One of my most special moments was being invited to visit Beethoven’s birthplace and perform at Beethoven Hall in Germany. Music has taught me discipline, patience, and the value of hard work—lessons that also help me in golf!

Lilia Vu, Nelly Korda, Tiger Woods.
