⌛ Junior golfer spotlight
This week's spotlight features Aidan
Wilson from Wallburg, North Carolina and the Class of 2026. Aidan and our son Hamilton started playing in tournaments together around age 8 or 9 and it's so fun watching these kids grow up together in golf!
Aidan recently verbally committed to play D-1 golf at N.C.
State University and it's amazing to watch how much he's grown as a person and a player over the years.
How did you start playing golf?
I started playing golf
through my dad when I was very young. He picked up golf in his mid 20’s and wanted to share his love of the game with me.
Do you have any advice about the recruiting process?
My advice on the recruiting process would be to start emailing
and emailing coaches your schedule and tournament scores before the spring of your sophomore year.
What other advice can you give to others hoping to be recruited for college golf?
My advice would be to have as much fun on the course
as you can. Coaches look more at your fundamentals and how you deal with adversity on the course. They would rather see you play bad and battle than play good and super happy.
Do you set yearly goals?
Yes I do. My yearly goals currently are
to bring my short game and mental game to another level.
What part of the game are you working on now?
A big part of my game I am working on is course management.
Who is your golf instructor?
My instructor is Kelley Phillips.
Favorite restaurant?
Smitty’s Oyster
Bar.
What other hobbies do you have?
I love to fish and play pickleball.
