Welcome to The Opening Tee Shot
I think this is one of the most exciting weeks of junior golf. With so many tournaments taking place across the country, there's no shortage of newsworthy stories to share. In light of the craziness, we'll keep this
newsletter super short this week.
At this moment our son is competing in the 2025 U.S. Junior
Amateur taking place at Trinity Forest Golf club in Dallas, Texas. As I'm writing this newsletter, he's getting ready to tee off for the Round of 16 but we have no idea how long the stay will be here in Texas. It's been a wild week, with him competing in the third-longest match in U.S. Jr history, where he was 1 up after 25 holes in match play. You can follow along here if you like.
We know so many junior golf families have big competitions this week! The U.S. Kids World Teen Championship is taking place in Pinehurst, along with the
AJGA TaylorMade Qi35 Junior All-Star in California. There's so much to keep up with that it's impossible to highlight everyone's accomplishments, but we hope you'll tag @juniorgolfplaybook in your stories and posts so we can celebrate with you.
For many of the Class of 2025, this is the
last week of competition for junior golf, since college starts in about a month. It recently hit me that I'll be facing this a year from now, so for right now I'll enjoy these last twelve months as a junior golf parent.
Thank you once again for being here as we're all trying to take it day by day, round by round
with these junior golf journeys. We will be back in full force next week!
